Lily Haseotes Bentas is the Chairman of the Board of the Cumberland Farms Group of Companies. A daughter of the founders, she has spent her entire working career in various positions of increasing significance within the Company. In 1991, she was appointed Chief Executive Officer and held this position throughout almost two decades when the Company experienced extraordinary growth. In September 2008 Mrs. Bentas stepped down as CEO to focus her energy as Chairman to strategically guide the Company for the future.
Rhode Island's Salve Regina University has conferred on Lily Bentas an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration (2006) and Massachusetts' Hellenic College conferred a Doctorate of Humanities Honorary Degree (2009). She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (a Harvard Teaching Hospital). For a number of years she also served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Convenience Stores and the National 4-H Council's Executive Board of Trustees.
